We will visit an urban garden in Oviedo, an aquaponics operation with tilapia and certified organic microgreens in Osteen, and a neighborhood market and food hub in Orlando, Florida. Itinerary: Departure Time from the Rosen Plaza Hotel: 8:00 AM 9:00-10:00 AM Sundew Gardens (http://sundewgardens.com/) This 5-acre urban garden produces fresh vegetables, herbs, fruit, and eggs in a natural Florida setting. It offers an annual membership "Harvest Gardening” program. 11:00 AM-1:00 PM East End Market (http://eastendmkt.com/) This is a neighborhood market and cultural food hub inspired by Central Florida’s local farmers and food artisans. A very interesting place to visit to gain more insights into local food systems and dynamic local economy. 1:50-3:00 PM Osteen Organics (http://osteenorganics.com/) An aquaponics operation with tilapia and certified organic microgreens and wheatgrass. Return to Rosen Plaza Hotel by 4:15 PM. Meals: Lunch on your own at East End Market
