This workshop will discuss research and current and potential applications of plasticulture technologies intended to maximize yield and quality and mitigate the impact of climate change, particularly the effects of increased temperatures, on the production of vegetables and berries.
This workshop will discuss research and current and potential applications of plasticulture technologies intended to maximize yield and quality and mitigate the impact of climate change, particularly the effects of increased temperatures, on the production of vegetables and berries.
Platiculture technologies have allowed significant increments in yield and quality of fruits and vegetables all over the world. Benefits of plasticulture technologies can be attributed in part to their ability to modify the crop microenvironment. Increased temperatures and irregular temperatures patterns due to climate change may result in reduced crop yields and quality, increased utilization of irrigation water, and augmented incidences of insects and plant diseases. This workshop will discuss research and current and potential applications of plasticulture technologies intended to maximize yield and quality, as well as to mitigate the impact of climate change, particularly the effects of increased temperatures on the production of vegetables and berries.
