Gardens of the Big Island

Objective(s):

Thursday, September 21, 2017

$159 per person – advance registration is required

Limited to 20 people

Spend a day sampling Hawaii’s plants and gardens! We’ll start with coffee, of course! Beginning at Greenwell Farms, we’ll learn of the “farm to cup” process while sampling some of their Kona. After a brief rest at the black sand beach, we’ll experience a behind-the-scenes orchid production tour. We’ll have time to do a little plant shopping before we leave Akutsuka Orchids, headed to the beautiful Queen Lili`uokalani Garden in Hilo. At this park, we’ll enjoy fishponds and rock gardens. Our last stop will be at the ‘Imiloa Native Hawaiian Garden to catch a glimpse of Hawaii’s native ecosystem. Hope you’ll join us! Garden tour price includes transportation, lunch, and admission fees.
