Poinsettia Nursery Production: Horticulture Lab Experiential Learning Activity

Students from the horticulture science lab at Florida International University (FIU) had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the growing and marketing of plants through poinsettia production for the 3rd Annual Poinsettia Sale event at FIU. Approximately 500 rooted poinsettia were acquired from the local nursery, transplanted, pinched, fertilized and treated with the plant growth regulator (PGR) B-Nine as part of the production process.
